I imagine those with less powerful platforms will see a more substantial performance improvement, so if you haven't tried the new Vulkan client yet, I recommend you give it a try. Of course, that's not my monitor's refresh rate of 165, but the setting of my limit at 144 led to buttery smooth play at high refresh rates. Personally, I went from a somewhat rocky 122 fps at 1440p with my 1080 ti and 8700K to a solid average of 155. That's not all - thanks to better memory management and other under-the-hood tweaks that Vulkan is making to the game, most gamers will see an overall improvement in performance, especially those with aging CPUs. This option alone makes it easier for gamers to achieve their desired refresh rate, as it allows the game to lower the internal render resolution to maintain the refresh rate you set. If so, then well done: you are in the Vulkan client. If you're not sure there's an easy way to check: go into graphics settings and see if Adaptive Render Scaling is an option. Currently there is no way to change APIs in Rainbow Six Siege, so if you click on the icon and go straight into the game, you are running the DX11 client. If you use your desktop icon to launch the game, you will need to pin a new one for the Vulkan client. The first option is the right shaped DirectX 11 seat, and Vulkan is what it says on the tin. Assuming you are using the correct launcher (this will be the one your Rainbow Six Siege license was purchased with), an option should appear asking you to choose the version of Siege you want to launch. This goes for both the Uplay and Steam versions of the game: you need to go to your library and select Play. I don't know any other games that use Vulkan API but I think it will be the same.Using the launcher you purchased Siege from, manually launch the game from your library to activate the Vulkan client. The problem is, now I can't even use game capture to capture ANY vulkan games now, not even Doom ETERNAL.ġ3:52:48.843: attempting to hook process: RainbowSix_Vulkan.exeġ3:52:48.846: using helper (compatibility hook)ġ3:52:48.849: hook not loaded yet, retrying.ġ3:52:51.860: attempting to hook process: RainbowSix_Vulkan.exeġ3:52:52.893: capture stoppedġ3:52:55.877: attempting to hook process: RainbowSix_Vulkan.exeġ3:52:55.893: capture stoppedġ3:52:59.893: attempting to hook process: RainbowSix_Vulkan.exeġ3:52:59.910: capture stopped In every uninstall however I don't delete my user settings as I think it doesn't affect anything and if I do delete it, it will be such a huge pain to set everything up from 0. I've tried reinstalling OBS, installing previous version of OBS, changing OBS hardware accelerated options to Power Saving, but no luck. I use OBS 26.1.1 so it SHOULD capture Vulkan games. Using DirectX version of Rainbow Six Siege, however solves the problem. Ubisoft has recently added the Vulkan API to their brutal team-shooter Rainbow Six Siege, though in an experimental capacity. Game capture results in black screen, while window capture freezes whenever I'm back (alt-tab) to the game. My OBS still can't hook to my R6S Vulkan. I instantly uninstall R6Analyst to see if it was the problem. Hardware: Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 3550H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.10 GHz Installed RAM - 8.00 GB (5.92 GB usable) System type - 64-bit operating system, 圆4-based processor Edition - Windows 10 Pro Version - 20H2 OS build - 19042.1052 Is there any other specifications I missed Im kinda new here so Im not so sure what I need to include. But recently, after I installed R6Analyst I can't use game capture and even window capture to capture Rainbow Six Siege gameplay. I usually use OBS for Rainbow Six Siege Vulkan API.
